"The Fellowship transformed not just my art practice, but my entire career path. It's the opportunity I wish I'd found years ago." -Sweater Bob

The Future Is Black and The Mosaic Institute is proud to partner  in the launch of The Basquiat Fellowship & Accreditation Program– an exclusive 12-month incubator designed for just 15 creative entrepreneurs ready to transform their passion into sustainable success.

  5. New Era Academic Summit & Arts Showcase- Present your integrity-based, creatively inclined solutions to the NE region’s learning leaders dedicated to liberating creatives from the School-to-Prison-Pipeline

Many fellows report these connections become their most valuable professional network long after the program ends.

Is This Right For You?

The Basquiat Fellowship is specifically designed for emerging creatives and teaching artists who:

  • Have demonstrated talent but struggle with the business side of creativity

  • Dream of making a sustainable living from their artistic practice

  • Seek community with dynamic-minded creative entrepreneurs

  • Are ready to commit to transformational growth over 12 months

Preference given to artists from historically disadvantaged backgrounds with demonstrated potential for growth and community impact.

Investment in Your Future:

Pittsburgh's 2050 Arts & Culture report documents that Black artists apply for 60% more grants but receive 39% fewer than their counterparts. This represents $383,000 in annual funding disparities from just one grant program. With Black artists self-funding 77% of their creative pursuits (compared to 52% for non-Black artists), this gap directly impairs wealth creation. MBDA cuts have eliminated one of the few federal resources addressing this disparity, making community-based interventions like ours essential to preventing further economic marginalization.

Limited Opportunity

Only 15  spots available for the 2025-2026 cohort. Applications close July 4th, 2025 – securing your application now is the first step toward transforming your creative practice into the career you've always envisioned. This career-defining opportunity is made possible through partnership with The Mosaic Institute, Brew House Arts, and X Liberator Network.

For just $221 per month for our Foundation tier or $353 per month for our Liberation tier, you're not just joining a program — you're investing in your future success. This nominal fee underscores the immense value of what awaits you.
